Report location New York > Moriches > KING COD,SLAMMER SEABASS AND CODFISH!!!
Fishing method Boat
« Previous Report Next Report »

Received a call from Capt.Joe who runs the King cod charter boat out of Moriches.Hey Rob have 1 spot open for a wreck trip,Pieces should be loaded up.Well it doesnt take much to convince me,Im in.Needless to say the wife was not happy.

Well everybody cancled but me and Mike 666.The wind was puffing a bit in the AM and Joe was gracious enough to take us out fishing. For those that cancled, your loss and togilators gain.We ran down the beach quickly jigged 3 striped bass 26 to 27 and 3/4 inches and a gorilla blue, but that really never got going so we hit 3 wrecks.Wreck 1 in 120' loaded with bergalls and gray submarines.Wreck 2 150' 7 keeper cod some ling and giant Sea perch.Wreck 3 175' another 6 keeper cod to fifteen lbs.some ling and sea perch and ALLL THE KNOTHEAD DOUBLE HEADER SEABASS TO ABOUT 5 1/2 LBS UNTIL YOUR ARMS FELL OFF AND CRIED NO MAS!

Really nice Job done by Joe keeping the boat positioned tight over pieces all day.We stayed local, due to a light crew and only hit his pieces to the South.Joe really wanted to hit some of his spots to the east in deeper water.I can only imagine what Joes deep pieces have on them.

Here is a little secret from the togilator,Everybody knows how much I love bottom fishing.Joe on the King cod is an unknown gold mine.I have fished with him several times this season and he is one of the best I know.He has a log book stacked with numbers I have never fished and seem to be loaded with life when you get on the rite one.

Double headers!

Mikey with a fine bacala!

Need I say more.

A nice biscuit!

Great day Rob and as usual a great report.

There are 4 seasons to the year and you can fish in all of them.  The season never ends...
