Wow, what a day!

Fished again for Tog today on the Osprey V. So far the season has been mediocre but today made up for it in a big way. Our first two drops produced a few Tog but nothing earth shattering, still, there was life and hope. Cap'n JP made a good call during the tide switch and moved us to a different spot where the bite was ON! Despite wind against tide JP kept on the piece and the freight trains just kept coming. Drop and lift action with excellently sized fish. The action was so fast and furious that Amanda and Travis couldn't keep up. Three on staboard, two on the back., fish all over...woohoo.

My second keeper hit hard and on the lift my J&H/Lamiglas rod shattered into 3 pieces from the force of lifting that fish out of the wreck. Still managed to boat the fish however and JP was quick with a loaner setup. Boated 9 keepers for a personal best in quantity and size but kept only my limit. Shared the extras around. Left them biting with the boat limit caught by 12:30.

My hat is off to the captain and crew for a great day of fishing. Thanks much. Can't wait to see the pictures! Maybe I'll get in one more day before you guys pack it in. If not, see you in the springtime.

It was great to have you out for a good day, you've been on a few of the picky days. I'll be happy to loan you a rod anytime a fish blows yours up. Always a pleasure having you on board
