On Vacation this week into next week.

Mon.10/11 I togged in the sound alone on my boat. Had at least 12 keeper blacks up 7 1/2 lbs and many shorts as well as porgies (threw back) in shallow water on Asians.ORL.

Tues. 10/12 fished with my buddy Hadar. We had steady action all day and I decked a tog of 7 lbs and another of 10 lbs 6oz weighed in my hand held digital scale. It was 27 1/2 inches in length.ORL.

Wed.s I fished out east North Fork with Pete & George. We bass fished in the race. We all decked keeper bass and George won the bass pool with a 34 lber.

Then we togged @ Fisher's Isl. We had steady action on the last of outgoing water into the slack. Too many keepers to count! Greens and whites were the bait they ate both very well. We kept fish only 3-4 lbs and up. Pete had the largest tog of the trip a hair shy of 8 lbs and mine was a few OZ. lighter. George also decked a nice 6 1/2 lber. Most tog we kept were 4-6 lbs. ORL.

Today (Thurs.) fished the Western Sound again with George. We combined for about 20 keepers ORL. Action was off bc of the East wind. We picked away most of the day. Afternoon action slowed as surf increased & water dirtied up, and tide got high. Had enough supplementary action with shorts & porgies on every trip. ALL porgies went back swimming as well as shorts of course. Today it was Asians and Greens. At times Greens even seemed to have the edge for the 1st time so far this year.

Forgot to add my pics!

HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!!!! I hope the good lord provides me with a few more nice days to fish before I have to go back to work!!! I'm OFF until next Fri. 10/22!!! Back to work Sat 10/23.

Some AWESOME Western Sound fish!!! My personal best in my home waters in 12 years of fishing from my own boat!!!

NOTICE,...in the pics my elbows are BENT NOT arms EXTENDED OUTWARD!!! In other words (LEGIT) Pictures. NOT holding the fish stretched out toward the camera. I find it so annoying when people do that with 3-4 lb fish and try to make them look like slobs.

I appreciate honest reports. I always reflect that in my own. Anyway,...some fantastic memories from this early fall season so far! I feel very pleased! 10 lb tog in T-shirts, shallow water, on light spinning rods & reels, not much better than that!!!!

Caught these on a 7ft GL3 spinner rated for 10-17 lb test, and a Penn 260 Slammer reel, What an AWESOME fight in 10-15 feet of water!!! They both burned insane drag, I'll never forget it!!!! Even had to fight them around the anchor line passing the rod under it once!!! Absolutely AWESOME!!!!

I lift fish up then put them down!!

I'd dream to catch such blackfish on light tackle like that.

No problem with getting boarded as long as you're all legit.

Yeah, in fact I did get boarded once this past week. NO big deal. Law enforcement is always welcome on my boat. I'll even serve coffee if I've got it!
