Fishing method Surf

The wife was'nt feeling good so she kicked me out and said go fishin, so fishin I went. I hit it at the Demo and I hit it hard, real hard. Seemed like a perfect day for surf fishing. East wind and the water seemed fishy! There were a decent amount of fellow fisherman scattered about. I threw plugs, then I threw tins and nada. I was about to head home when I reached into my bag and pulled out the old reliable 2 oz smilin henry bucktail, I tipped it with some tasty red pork rind and after about a dozen casts...BAM, fish on and it was a good one. Back and forth, give and take and when it was over I landed a nice fat 28 incher. I proudly carried the beast back to the truck and gave the thumbs up to some fellow surfcasters. I did'nt see anyone else catch anything. I think its safe to say the best is yet to come. By the way the wife made the fish for dinner and it was delicious. Catch you out there,Capt.Matt,THE PROFESSIONAL.

Captain Matt -

I've heard of Smilin' Bill bucktails (by No-Alibi lures) but never a Smilin' Henry bucktail. Confused

Thanks for the plethora of gained knowledge that you give us. Just when I thought I knew everything about bucktails, you hit me with this; I feel so inadequate now.

Way to go Captain Matt your the best! When no one is catching you take home a keeper. Give and take on a 28 must have been some fight.

Thanks for the heads up. I have had my drag set light to not rip the mouth on the skinny palagics in the 25-30" range. Now that they are FAT, time to tighten the drags down. Don't want to get spooled. Once again a plethora of insight and knowledge from the cap.upup
