I finally made it back out here, having had to miss last weekend. Fished in the creek from 4:45 until 8:00 pm, from low outgoing to beginning incoming. Wind strong from the NE, but not as bad as I expected..not as cold either and some actual sunlight. Started out with krokodiles and bunker plugs for nothing....switched to bunker chunks. I was really encouraged when bunker started showing up...I promptly caught one that inhaled my slack line after a cast. (not the first time that's happened.)

It was large, but I livelined it for over an hour...until it was dead. Nothing! Every now and then I'd hear a splash, but only once was it a big splash as if predators were around...but even though my bunker was right there, nothing! Oh well, at least I went fishing.........

I've been fishing under these bunker in the mattituck/cutchogue area for about a week and a half. There sure are a lot of them. I was hoping for some bass, and threw fresh chunks and live swimmers out there. I've been surprised with the lack of action. In the end, I've put in about 15 hours for no bass, and only two large bluefish. (on the chunks)
