That last picture IS NOT a close up of the prior one. Look at the loose bait up top. And it wasn't a blue bird day 9/10/09.

find a spot that looks like that on the south shore and ill show you a picture of a U.F.O. thats the north shore, and if you really think the water is blue like that on long island, then i suggest you stop smoking the crack pipe!

you my friend need to stop fishing Nassau county and see more of the cleaner side of the Island. Water is plenty blue on the North Shore as well as points east...

Report though is impossible to be later than tuesday morning. North Shore has been rough since wed am, and plenty of clouds..

you think fishermen lie? say it isn't so..

Blue blue water up

Hey, I can tell you that the south shore does indeed get that blue, especially after summer when all the boats and people are out of the water. I remember fishing 2 years ago at jones and I really thought I was at the caribbeans b/c the water was aqua blue. It was a beautiful sight!up

I do agree with you and have reservations about the pictures being north shore this week though.

The blue water you say you have never seen? and you fish everyday? don't know why then you haven't seen it because it's there just not all the time but it does exist. Seen the south shore(from Davis park to Montauk) look like the caribean waters many times with gin clear water up close turning to greenish blue and then blue blue blue. Same on the north shore but even more frequent because of the rocky bottom and less current to stir things up. BTW I live in Medford and have been fishing the Island for 50 years, maybe your sunglasses need cleaning.

im not talking about the surface color, im talking about water clarity, and as far as the medford man, i guess you never heard of brown tide i bet you 100 dollars that you go to the north or south shore you wont see any blue water, not even in the dead of summe, too much boat traffic + changing tides = diariah water!

I guess you don't believe my statements about "GIN CLEAR WATER" and "CARIBBEAN LIKE" and all that tells me is your not out there as much as you say or you need to have your eyes checked.

BTW, you owe me $100

Surfcastin:

a. I routinely see 5' to bottom off my boat on the north shore. For that matter my three visits to RM this summer I was able to see my feet in 4' and better?

b. I still don't get your contstant accusations against fishkiller and his supposed blatent promotion of a bait and tackle store.

"and no way the water was ever that blue up there this summer so cut the crap and let me know what bait shop your workin for"

As Wood Yee would say on the Howard Stern show: "What are talking about?"

That's an easy 100 bucks.. dude I snorkel dove this weekend in the peconic bay and visibility was easy 50 feet.. I'll take your money whenever you want to give it to me.

Yeah the Great South Bay is not blue due to mostly the vegatation. The bloom wasn't bad this year at all compared to last year... but get out of the slum and go to shinnecock, orient, montauk. peconic bay etc. and be glad you're not $100 poorer. I was on the North Shore tuesday night snorkeling and visibility was excellent up

stay out of the Patchogue cesspool and you may get some clean water..

Your still not explaining what the words "bait" and "shop" have anything to do with both of his reports. One more time:

"What are you saying".
