Hit the beach at 6:00am this morning and it was cold, about 28°, with gusty north wind, bottom of the tide. I layered up and proceeded to have one of the best days of my season! It was a slow start until the sun started shining. Picked up a schoolie on a 1.5 oz white little neck popper close-in. Then I really dialed it in with a J6 Charlie Graves tin and white, epoxy body teaser fly. It was one of those 30+ fish days - a bump or a fish on almost every cast; mostly the teaser at first, but then more on the tin as the tide came in. Caught a big shad, too! Believe it or not, the guy fishing next to me pulled in a small fluke!!

I had to get to an early afternoon appointment in Westchester, so I left 'em biting.

Have an awesome day! I'll be buzzing on this one for a while...

That's what I've been thinking... I'll be looking for large next time.
Is it legal to live-line shad?

They're Patagonia fleece gloves. Not exactly heavy duty, but they keep my hands comfortable, even when wet. My fingertips, however, didn't fare too well - took most of the day for the "tingling" to go away. I bought these so long ago that I can't remember where I got them.
