Hit the open beach with my buddy Wayne(Walruss22) and also met up with David(Kalis?????) for some fun in the sun. The winds were North at about 10-15 and the air temps felt like they were hovering around 30 at 10:00 am. Worked the open beach with tins and teaser combinations wich the fish just loved (THANKS MARK >>IPLAYFAIR) your teasers are killer!!!. Between the 3 of us we probably 60+ fish. All bass and NO keepers but fun just the same. Where are the bigguns???.

On a side note we left the fish bitting and then had a bad problem with my VS150. The handle just exploded on my hand. Seems the screw that holds the handle together got stipped out and now I need a repair, OH WELL. tIGHT lINES CATCHEM UP.>>>>>>>>Martin

Glad your reel gave it up at the end of your trip and not on the first fish after driving all night to Montauk or something. I'm frankly shocked that something like that would happen on such an expensive piece of equipmnent. I'm trying to be empathetic here, but I would be livid if that had happened to me after dropping that kind of cash. I thought reliability is what you're supposed to be paying for with those things. That's lame. down

call/email them. As long as the reel was not being abused which it was not, then they should do something for you.

Van Staals are guaranteed for life they will fix or replace it. It just sucks to be down this time of year.

Nice action

60 Fish !!! Are you sure you guys didn't catch the same fish over and over???

Sorry I missed seeing Dave the wildman in action again today. My boys were home sick from school and I had to pass.

I'm glad the teasers worked well for you. I'm setting up a "Teaser tying workshop" this January if possible. I'll post more information when it comes available. It would also be a nice meet and greet and we could chat about the one that got away (or broke your reel).

Ha, I knew Bob would chime inToungue. Great day of fishing , thank goodness the reel broke on the end of my morning. I usually bring another rod but today I didn't , it's ok thoughup.

Hey Will , you should thank Ken, remember" Oh this reel is perfect for this rod" . I think I'm keeping it for now. I think I took the words broken in to an all new level today as I had many double headers.

Mark your teasers are the shiznidToungue.>>>>>>>>>Martin

I hope it won't cost me to have that handle repaired or replacedFrown

All Shorts and water getting cold

60 bass is a bang up day, great job. All shorts on the other hand is not such a good sign. Cold water and shorts are usually for the first 2 weeks in December. Fished yesterday on my boat and water was 49-50 degrees in Moriches. The water is getting too cold too quick this year. My Log books indicate the water was over 50 degrees until after thankgiving for the last 7 years in a row. Hoping things don't end prematurely this year and if this is a sign of the winter to come, were in for a cold one. Also, Please post your response from Van Staal as to the status of your handle. I'm interested if they honor the warrantee.

Hey, I thought I was the king of the schoolies! Sucks about the reel. At least it wasn't the 250...we still have some big guys to catch.

Keep our beaches clean.

Maybe the name should be changed to Van Stall

As in not working anymore and loosing speed and function.

That is why God gave them tails Wink
