Took the day off from work today and decided to spend 1/2 a day on the water.

Started out at sunrise trying to net bunker with not much success. In fact on my second throw I hung my net on a snag on the bottom and was forced to either leave it be or rip it out, I chose the later.

With a half dozen live bunker in the well and a half bushel of clams aboard we decided to head out. Our first stop was an area we have been taking bass almost every morning we tried in the past few weeks. With only 6 bunker and 5 anglers aboard it was a short stay. We managed 1 keeper bass and a few runoffs from those pesky bluefish.

Just about the time we finished fishing for bass the wind started blowing pretty hard out of the west. Sea conditions were still ok so we ran outside for some bottom fishing. We made 3 drops and pulled some nice seabass off one and ling off another. Our final drop put about a dozen porgies in the box then we called it a day.
