Took the day off Tuesday with light snow and west winds forecast. Bow hunted the morning hours and made an unplanned decision to hit the beach in the afternoon. Didn't check the conditions otherwise I may have stayed in the woods. Winds were hard outa the North. Thought about ducking in the south side of a jetty or two down Monmouth Beach but what the $#@! out to the Rip I went. Fast moving water made it difficult to work my surface plugs. Tried some metal and did spot bait fish breaking in the wash a couple of times. One other guy showed up for an hour or so around sunset and told me they hammered bass there the night before. Swithed to a 5 inch swimming minnow and nailed a monster 15lb plus bluefish on the first cast. Was able to beach another 5 or 6 blues of similar size over the next hour or so but the first one was the biggest, baddest of them all.

Nice job - those bluefish are out of their minds right now. Total animals.

Jersey Blues

Thanks, You said it. Right now their fat and angry. Spent today on a fiends boat working under steady, wide spread, bird action just off Seaside\IBSP. We all had a nice pick at just short stripers until the wind turned from West to North. Right about mid-day. Suprisingly no Jersey blues today.
