First cod trips of the season the past 2 days with the Master Bucktail Craftsman of the Clan Skinner. We caught on the inshore humps, but were severely disappointed on an exploratory run to offshore spots that have been enticing me from nautical charts and recommendations for a couple of years now. WTH, it was a nice day for a boat ride!!

Picture below shows the Master Craftsman proud of the first sculpin ever caught on one of his creations, adding to a long list of species my lures have caught. I can't figure out which one is uglier...

He had to revert to diamond jigs to help put last night's Baccala Bake on the dinner table.

Nah Pablo, I wouldn't want my ugly mug breaking anyone's fancy "retina displays."

We went back out yesterday and nailed a good 20 or so cod, keeping 2 for the table, along with a bunch of small pollack. Fish are nicely set up, ripe for the plucking.
