I fished with my friend James Katsaris from port Jeff Long Island. we fished on the marathon lady mile marker 53. boat does 2 half day trips. We did both and had two good trips. We fished the close patch reefs in 25 to 30 ft and the mission fir us was muttons. We caught 14 between us James schooled me with a 9 lb fish.  I had 3 17-inch fish that would have been keepers the day before. New regs just went to 18 inches. We had a doz keeper mangos some porgies and 10 throwback groupers. Tons of grunts but no y tails. As we were fishing the bottom with ballyhoo plugs. Capt Craig fished aggressively making up to 5 on a half day trip. The crew was great and the capts wife Dorothy was very accommodating to us. The boat was really clean and professional. At the cleaning tables three 200 lb bull sharks fought the pelicans for the fish scraps. Going today again on pm trip. Addicted to muttons. Kind of like blackfish on steroids. A little chilly here this am only 75.

If anyone is fishing in or around key west and has room for me on a trip please contact me at 516-885-1932 or [email protected] Thanks

PS – I am now booking charters in Montauk for 1-20 people for spring cod in late March and blackfish in April if we get a season.
