Fished on the Morningstar out of OC, Maryland this past monday and tuesday with a buddy of mine. Monday was a tough day for myself getting just one keeper and a few shorts which was about average for the day on the boat. My buddy was getting all the right bites landing a 14lb beast and 11 lb "nice" fish. The weather was horrible rain, sleet, snow and a stiff 30 blowing in your face..not fun to say the least.
Tuesday we arrived at the boat and Monty informed us if we have a dentist appt to get off the boat because he was gonna do what he had to do to get the job done!! We were greeted with a lite west wind with a left over swell which disappeared by 10am. To make a long story short it was the best day of togging I've ever had. We had a steady pick of big tog all day. All the fish were 8-15lbs. It wasn't until the last drop the "magic" happened for 2hrs straight we had all out bite of jumbo 10+ lb fish all around the boat!! At one point I just put my rod down just to witness what was going on! 10lber here 12lber there 14.5 lber there!!! A day I wont forget for a while or until I book another trip!! The best part about it is there are better days to be had with bigger fish according to the regulars! Till next bite!
