Sorry for the late report. This is from Friday.

I hopped on Captain Ron’s Fishermen for striped bass and it didn’t disappoint. I tried diamond jigs, but Tsunami swim baits (deep water version) were the ticket. Captain moved us all around all day and we found active pods of fish - most of which involved chasing after birds. I didn’t catch my first fish until half of the trip was over. My problem was that my swim bait wasn’t getting down deep enough. I started letting more line out and then started getting hits. Someone gave me a deep water swim bait and my hookups increased more. All of my fish were released after a quick photo. The boat easily limited out. It was a good day.

My first fish was about 15 pounds. All were around this size for me.
