Needed to get the monkey off my back and I did. Started cold (24 degree air temps), with a low tide and there wasn't much of a bite. I got one nice 24-inch bass after failing to set the hook on a solid hit about 10 minutes earlier. Redemption. Later in the incoming tide, the temperatures rose and the bite picked up. It was probably a 50-50 split between guys who were using umbrella rigs and guys who were using jigs. I don't know who was catching more but interestingly, of the two rigs that I made up, one of them was weighted like a jig and the umbrella wasn't. Even though I seem to get more hits on that one, I didn't get the hookups that I did with the unweighted umbrella rig. I don't know enough about it to dispense advice, but that was my experience.

Team Misfit probably hit double digits for the number of fish caught, but Pistol Pete was tight-lipped, so I'm thinking maybe not. I only had about a half dozen and I was thrilled.
