Foot-longs on the beach. I got mine on a Hopkins, but they're bluefish, so it probably doesn't matter. I had a feeling that I would be relegated to nothing but blue fish when I saw that the seagulls were staying in the air as they picked the bait, which I figured was sand eels, since I wasn't seeing any blitzing at the surface by the blues. It's easy fishing for someone like me who doesn't do much surfcasting. If it weren't forthe 5ft break at the shore,I'd be catching them from the kayak.

Even they have been few and far between this year.

The rod is a 9 foot Penn Batallion. The reel is a Penn Spinfisher.
