Escaped the Northern cold for a few days and fished hard with On the Edge Fishing Charters Captain Peyton Powers and teammate Harrison last Wednesday out of Boynton Beach Inlet, Florida. Conditions were super rough coming out of the inlet in 3'-5's (looked more like 8'ers) but Captain Powers badass 32' 2016 SeaVee Center Console with twin merc 350's easily handled the rough conditions and got us out to the fishing grounds super fast and dry. Set up on the kite for sails using Google Eyes. After some dialing in, the fellas got the bait soaking nicely. Nothing but top of the line gear was used in their rigging. 1st hit looked like a shark ran off with the bait clean. 2nd hit was a sailfish that took a hard run and snatched the bait before the hook. 3rd hit was wahoo that bit clean through the wire leader. Baitfish boiling all around us, 4th hit was on a flat line - wahoo bit the bait clean up to the head and missed the hook completely. That was the story of the day, life everywhere and the Captain putting us right on the fish but a bunch of swings and misses, but that's fishing. Can't make it up sometimes. Called it a day and headed back to a cool restaurant dock for lunch and drinks. Awesome day of offshore fishing. Captain Powers runs a top of the line operation with an absolutely killer off shore boat set up and primo new tackle. If you are in the Boynton area I would highly recommend you get a day out on the water with Captain Powers and On the Edge Fishing Charters!

With an outgoing tide and a NE wind that Boynton Inlet is certainly one of the most dangerous on the East Coast. It’s narrow and has that lovely dogleg. Amazing to me how that party boat runs it.

Glad you enjoyed the kite fishing. Some days it’s tough to come tight but it’s always exciting.

GREAT post..I am green with envy...but one small suggestion...people wondering about getting into fishing wont really understand what your saying...and thats a shame.Perhaps keep it really simple? about kite fishing? and googles and such? anyway great post and have fun....
