We went out again on the salty goat out of key west. The Capt and crew did not disappoint. Steamed 9 mi so in 40 ish ft. Set up started to chum again instant bites on the bottom, grunts y tails mangroves and some really nice lane snappers came up. 20 min into the slick we saw a few mackerel. I switched over to a stinger rig. 4/0 hook on light wire to a 3 in dropper to sm treble. I drifted our whole ballyhoo and quickly hooked up with an 8 lb cero on my 20 lb class spin rod. 5 min later I hooked another one this time a nice 5 lb Spanish. Now I said wouldn’t it be cool to get a king and have the trifecta.  A few more drifts out I hooked up into large fish in the stern.  The fish peeled a lot of line and took me up to the bow and under the anchor line. Then two more times over the anchor line then down the port side and a few min later the mate Greg gaffed a 30 lb kingfish. Pretty awesome on a head boat. I also caught some really nice tails and a big false albacore some nice big lane snappers and assorted throwback bottom fish. again, nice boat good bait excellent effort and the mate Greg is very fishy, hands on and extremely knowledgeable. Awesome day.

If anyone is fishing in or around key west and has room for me on a trip please contact me at 516-885-1932 or [email protected] Thanks
