I did back to back trips last Monday (10/21) & Tuesday (10/22).

Monday I was aboard the YELLOWBIRD, a 65 footer out of Hampton Beach, NH, on the 12-hour marathon trip. Headed 35 miles out and landed some big pollock, haddock and cod on viking jigs and bait. I fished along side some local sharpies in George & Bobby who made me feel right at home

Got to see 100 lb bluefin tuna chasing small herring, going air bound and crashing back into the water. Real Cool! Only 14 fishermen aboard fishing. Yellowbird was captained by Rick, a class act, and assisted by Johnny, the mate, who was never at a lost for some fishing commentary.

Totals for the day (for me) were 8 pollock and two cod. Not to include the 20 something throwbacks of short cod and haddock.

Tuesday I sailed aboard the LADY MERRILEE III out of Seabrook Beach, NH, a much bigger and more comfortable boat. Great crew. Capt. Les Jr. is a pro and a fish finder. He never sits still. Unless he's jigging next to me. My final tally for the day was 4 pollock, 1 haddock and dozens of throwbacks.

To make the trip complete (after all, its a 5 hour drive back to Lake Placid, NY) , I picked up fresh lobster from Yankee Cooperative for the family.

Can't wait to make it to Jersey next week for the big stripers! FISH ON!

And definitely heading back to New Hampshire for the spring run on COD. Tight Lines,
