Well welcome to a new season tighter regs and the Sign of a rough winter.
Seems like the bays are warming up fast and some bait in JB has been spotted. There is news of the Prehistoric fish called flounder in small numbers but some starting to show in cetain areas. On the COD lookout action seems to have slowed to the east with some local boats hitting there honey holes for a few nice fish. One of the NJ boats ran off and did a bang up job with COD to 35 lbs.

Well good luck make sure you have your NY state give me money for nothing permit on you this season. I think they will be banging you out if not

Tight lines
Capt. Mike

DOCK REPORTS for April 8th 2010>>>>>>>>>>>>

Well the bait is filling in in many east locations this week as well as to the west. Small Bass have been taken in spots and the rivers have a the dwonward move falling into place with more and more fish showing in the river haunts. The good old tog boy has been showing up more and more so the water is moving up temp wise. Many shorts with a few keepers. Some keepers have been taken in the deep and the inshore stuff as well. There are still tinker Cod being hooked as well but that seems to have come to a hold. Ok the Dinosaur fish called flounder has been heating up with some locals cacthing there limits last week in the back bays. Those to the west have seen a rise in count and if you find a body of fish you can do well.

Well 3 more days and the Bass season will be legal and don';t for get to support your criminal state and buy your saltwater permit for bet they won't let you slide like last season.
they went to he printer for more ticket books so be wise

Enjoy 2010 it may not be the same every year they take more and more!

Beautiful old girl and without a doubt, a catch of a lifetime. But if she was going to be let go, I would have left her in the water. My .02

He did a story a few years back for SWS and said if he had caught another record fish he would have released it.....he said he endured so much BS..ex. death threats and loss of fishing friends from catching that fish.....

hard choice

Funny many have opinions on the release or kill.
I have let numerous big fish back but in all honesty I have only one fish over 50 myslef and if i had one in the 70 lb class while its still legal and my choice that baby is going on the wall and right othe scale. But I doubt that i'll even beat my personal record in my life so not to worry. But its the anglers choice and as long as it is legal don't knock his choice they are not breaking the law and its easy to say you let it go till you see a monster in front of you. I have seen customers stateing they would release large fish and then change there mind when it was boat side and thats there right. I tried to get more info on the fish and waiting a reply.
The pictures sure do make it look like a 70-90 lb fish I dont know how tall the angler is but even if hes 5'3" that fish all all 5 ft and thats a 60 " fat slob so no doubt that fish is 70 or better

2-50lbs local Waters

I just got word of 2 50's caught in the river so the big ones are moving down. The bait is in place and the JB and im sure the north shore bridge area are holding fish.
Go catch them up boys.
Some regular fish in the back bays as well
