Thanks to Captian Neil for making an absolutly spectacular 7 spinning rod. Guys this rod is a thing a beauty, it is perfect for 1/2 to 2 oz. I ve thrown 1/2 leadheads w bass assains to 2 1/4 metal lips and caught fish already this year. I have wrestled bass and 8 pound blues with shoulders in heavy current and had a blast with the rod bent in half, its got balls.

A while ago there was a thread with some people including myself looking for a lightweight 7 surf rod to be used from a boat. This is the perfect rod. i've matched it with a stradic 4000. It is a custom lamiglass made by our very own Capt Neil Faulkner. I apoligize that i dont have the numbers but Im sure Capt Neil will chime in with the particulars. just wanted to say thanks for a job well done!

already looking forward to my next rod a 7 cgbt841 L.

100 percent agree with billybass. Neil built me the same rod last year. i matched mine to a shimano spheros 4000. the rod is unbelivable. extremely light weight, but strong enough to haul a large striped bass in. ive caught bass, fluke, and bluefish on this rod on a daily basis. any shimano in the 4000 series matches the rod perfectly.

Hi guys,

Thank you.

Bill, your blank is a Lamiglas XC84 MH Certified Pro Graphite rated for 12-25# test line and 3/8-1 1/2 oz lures. When I heard that the model would be replaced I took evey blank I could get my hands on. The replacement might be the IM 700 Casting series and model# IMC 845 also 12-25# test line and 3/8-1 1/2 oz lures.

Tom, I think yours is the spin model of TLIS Twitchin' Stick, Rainshadow Mag-Bass series,MB 843, rated 10-17# test line and 1/4-3/4 oz lures. Another winner!!!

Keep catching those great fish guys and have fun. Maybe I should build myself those rods, shut the shop down and go have all that fun with you.

Neil, the IM700 version of that blank is a little bit stiffer, although it is a really, really nice blank. I also picked up a bunch of teh 84MH's form Clemens when tehy were Discon'd, but I've wrapped or sold them all.

Substitute blank from another company is the GUSA SW70M, almost identical to teh 84MH in bend, power, action, difference is it's slightly thinner OD-wise, but slightly heavier weightwise. Honestly, side by side you really can't tell them apart.

Hi Billy,

Thanks for the input. Like we keep saying, there are too many good blanks out there these days. How can we stock them all? Not easily.

One angler took a 15# blue on his XC 84 MH. I thought he was going to tell me it was in a dozen pieces.

Do you have an input on what Lamiglas did to the Ron Arra blanks this year? My guess is that they beefed them up a bit. I have not touched a 2007 Ron Arra blank yet.

I missed most of the Golden Gloves.

No idea abotu any Lami's right now. No info, and I haven't seen a single ost regarding the Arra's. If you see something is different, it probably is.

Golden Gloves - Elke got TKO'd in the Semi finals, she didn't make it to MSG. She's goign to Colorado for a NAtional Tournament in 2 weeks.

bad news

the best rod imho, sleeps with the fishes. it broke, the other night. good news is capt neil and the good folks at lamiglass are taking care of it and a replacement is on its way.

Billy40

Hi Billy,

It was the new model of the old XC 84 MH. The break looked like it was cut with a lazer cutter on the second time the rod was used. It definitely was not over stressed.
