I only get to fish for tuna a couple of times per season and we troll and chunk for them, as for other fish i never stop bouncing the jig as long as it is moving it is going to get hit.

Jigging in LI Sound

Many years ago I had my daughter and son out fishing together. The day was light rain and calm. Leaving PJ Harbor we went east. Finding birds working fish we stopped and started to fish. My son was older and better with the rod. So he was into a bluefish immediately. Then another. My daughter got down to bottom and started slowly turning the handle. Bang, fish on, a large one. My son continued to catch blues. She got her fish to the surface and it was a very nice weak. After the fish was unhooked she dropped down and repeated the exact same thing. So my son slowed down and he was also into a nice weak also. So there it was weaks under the blues. Great day with the kids.
