Do diamond jigs lose there effectiveness when they lose a good portion of there chrome plating? All mine are pretty beat up and I've been catching more fish on the teaser.

Some folks will disagree, but you may find them even more effective without there plating someways, use em on cloudy days, evenings and mornings and tip with some feathers, hair or tubing, also paint some up all different colours and schemes to your liking, If you still feel like you like the chrome get some prism tape on them it will make em as good as new.

Many years ago when I actually used to fish from boats also, we used to like the old low gloss Tri-Fin tiger strip jigs for bass. The older, less shiny, the better, or so we thought.Wink

Nowadays, I think the presentation is more important than the shine, so let'em fly.

This is gonna sound crazy but I have been known to cast a diamond jig or two down the street to rough them up a bit. I like the little bit of silver and gold/bronze showing.

My beat up jigs worked just fine today. Maybe they do work better all scuffed up. Thanks for the tips.

I thought this was going to a picture thread for everyone's heavily used tins from the past few weeks.... Anyways, I like to spray mine with plastidip spray. It gives a nice matte black finish and wears like iron...deadly at night with a grub tail
