It is okay to feel sad just as it is okay for the anglers catching the stripers to be elated.

Remember there are many days that fish are not caught so hopefully over time it all evens out. Many families will have a very fresh fish dinner and that is good.

To me it doesn't make a difference if it Bass, Bluefish or Jelly fish. If there going to be eaten its OKup. If there going to be wasted its not OKdown.

the PB'S have been doing well, the sand eels are in thick and so are the bass on them I was out S. of Cherries the other nite on my boat and have never seen such a feeding frenzie of keeper bass on the eels . Last year after Sandy the Captree fleet was shut down..maybe this bite will make up for last year

So it's irresponsible for these people to take two fish per person but its not irresponsible for you to take 45 porgies in THREE hours on 9/29/12. Sounds to me you're being a little selfishFinger

Makes me a bit concerned and somewhat sad. There are a lot of big fish being taken out. jMO

I do find it funny that recs want to puke, vomit, call the DEC when an east end haul shows thirty bass on the beach, which also makes me sad. But decks fills of big bass on more then one party boat, on both AM and PM trips, with titles with massacre and slaughter in them get praised. I know it's within the law but IMO adds up to a lot of dead fish regardless of where they end up.

Happy PB Capt can make some hard earned money. Lots of fees, permits and regs along with the increased overhead and a crawling economy hurting their biz. But you asked and yes it concerns me. Don't want to see bass languish like they did years ago and I want my son to keep seeing the fruit of our sacrifices.

My friend had the best name on his boat .... It was a beauty of a mako 23? CC.
Called ---- Quityourbitchen. Spelled a little different tho...

My point is

Quit your damn bi"*^^n.

Fish are here!! Feeding and blitzing and pulling and tuggin and so on

People go out and fill a few boats and take a few bass!
That's how fishing works!!! You got good days/weeks and bad days/months

It's not always a slaughter.
It's not always a railed boat
It's not always filled with sharpies that caught their share of bass.
It's a few hundred different people taking a few thousand fish in a few hundred hours of a few thousand hour fishing season.

Jiggin bass is fun.
Eating bass is delicious
And just witnessing the mayhem on the boat is worth every penny

These are the good days that get us through the not so good days.

I wish I was there filling up my freezer!

You guys mind
