This is my first try at making a squid teaser. Any advice on how to make it better would be great.

How did you attach the flex tubing?

I tied it on and used nail polish underneath to hold it on

BassSlayer,

The flex tubing looks strong but it isn't. If one of the weaved strands break the whole body will unravel. I usually coat my squids with epoxy. I would suggest that you use a larger eye and position it closer to the hook bend.

Squid teaser

Nice job on your first try!...Just want to add that if you do any fluke fishing in deep water, I have found to brush on some glow in the dark paint, ( found at art n craft stores) as a first coat. Let dry...then apply the epoxy. This makes the teaser really shine in the deeper dark depth's.

BassSlayer,

Let me know if you plan on attending the Freeport Show and I'll bring an assortment of large eyes for you to play around with.

Anthony - Thanks. I like the overall look of the squid too. The back fins cause the teaser to spin in a strong current. I eliminated it a few years ago when I designed the squids with the silicone skirts. The reason I posted the picture was because it clearly illustrated using a large eye at the hook bend.

Bitemyyak - The Freeport Show has been cancelled until further notice.

Seabassslayer - Try to make the Ward Melville Show. Let me know if you will be there.
