The deer are everywhere. I'm in Port Jeff station I knew they were directly north of me as my brother has them by him up near Ward melville and I see them by the preserve by Walmart near wireless and 347. The other day i saw a dead buck in the middle medium on Nicholls between 25 and the 1st light going north.. I know slightly north there are the power lines but where saw this one there was just the wood buffer maybe 10' then homes. Maybe he just ran down the medium not sure.
I know they are all over the north shore all the way into Huntington and from the post above they are into Manhasset. They just need some wood lots to cut in and put of to keep moving. Also saw a dead one over the summer on the corner of old town rd and Boyle the big intersection there. I guess they just keep moving west with no natural predators except cars hitting them in the area.
I drive with my father in law at night on bread route we had deer run in front of truck on motor parkway by cresent drive and also just before 347 by five guys ?????????????
what about the one that was allegedly seen in Bellmore/Merrick this past spring ? I think I saw the article in the Bellmore Patch or something. That one I doubted as the only way it could have gotten there on its own was to wander down a parkway for a looonnnnggg way.
bringing home venison is now as easy as a bay-caught keeper fluke !
2 deer were spotted in Plainview 3 weeks ago, near the college streets on Washington Avenue (some may remember it as the old Channel 21 where you would ride dirtbikes 25 years ago)
Just watched a show on channel 13 called the private life of deer
They said said a century ago there was less than a million
Deer in North America and today there are 30 million
Yuck

Seeing plenty of deer out here by me in the Miller Place/Mt Sinai area. Cedar Beach has got more than a few running around. Have property up in New Berlin, NY and getting plenty of cam shots of deer.
