Sailed today SE of Block and there was a ton of life // over 230 fish for 6 guys- hit the bottom and u got 'em - the short to keeper ratio was way off. Had 45 keeper tally up to 10 lbs - Tony was keeper high hook with @ 12 keepers. Many many many double headers and one nice Pollack, among a few small pollack.

The "Fleet" consisted of The Vivienne and Capt. Mark - what a difference a few days make.

Every body went home with a nice bag of 15 fillets ea.

Forgot the camera on the boat Frown -

I have 5, room for 1 more tomorrow - call 2nite til 10 ,

We're looking to sail Sunday open boat by reservation if there is any interest.

Openings next Mon(5th), Tues (6th), and Thurs (8th) for charter or open boat by reservation.

Please call (516) 885-1932 FOR INFO

Sailed today 4/2 open boat - The bite was a bit slower than yesterday but the quality average size of the fish was MUCH better.

Total tally of 38 keepers to 12 lbs.. Conditions were absolutely glassy and sunny and warm - great day to be out on the water! Did a decent job of em on scallop bellies (ssshhhh... lightly salted so they stay on the hook).

We're looking to sail Sunday open boat by reservation if there are others as crazy as we are.

Openings next Mon(5th), Tues (6th), and Thurs (8th) for charter or open boat by reservation.

Please call (516) 885-1932 FOR INFO

Mark from Long Beach had his first ever Cod today - here he is with a nice brace of keepers - Smile

Happy Easter!

Mixed bag of Cod and Flounder yesterday. Fishing was ok, definitely off from the previous few days. We marked the hell out of them, plenty of bait around. They never put on a hard chew. Gave it plenty of time. Every day is different!

Openings on Mon(5th), Tues (6th), and Thurs (8th) for charter or open boat by reservation.

Need 3 more for Monday - sailing for mixed bag Cod, Ling, and spring Blacks.

We think the Blacks will be biting well as conditions will be flat coming off a Northwest wind.

Charter Boat Capt. Mark - Montauk - Running report 2010

Sailed split charter today 4/12. Had a fine mixed bag of Cod, Flounder, Ling and choggies.

Had plenty fresh bait & found some real stink bags hidden in a corner of the bait box - seemed the Cod wanted the stink bags more than the fresh. Some were so festered they was blown up like balloons. Nasty.

3:1 shorts v. keepers ratio. Ed was high hook on the flounder with 8.

Gave the Blackfish an honest effort. Couple days to early before the hot bite starts - a friend on the Thunderfish had 4.

We have an open boat on Wed, 4/21 - 4 spots.

2 spots available Wed 4/28, and 2 spots for Fri 4/30.

We are also available for Charter for the Star Island Shark tournament June 18 & 19.

Sailing from the Viking dock across from Salivars -

Capt. Mark - Montauk

Great to be back in Montauk! Sailed open boat today.

Started the day with Blackfishing off Block Island - fishing RI 16" limits. Had 13 Blacks to 8.5 lbs - mess of shorts as well. They bit equally on hermits, skimmers, and green crab. Tide died, so did the bite >>>>> off to get some Cod, figured we'd pick a couple and have no problem stopping for the rest of our limit of Blacks on the way back.

Cod fishing was so good we never made it back to the blacks. One drop and the chum drew 'em in. Had 50 Cod to 14 lbs, maybe another 100 throw backs. Double headers common. Even though the cod spit juvenile whiting, we couldn't get them on the jig, clam was better.

Sailing open boat tomorrow ///

2 spots available Wed 4/28, and 2 spots for Fri 4/30.

All mixed bag Blacks , Cod, Ling.

We are also available for Charter for the Star Island Shark tournament June 18 & 19.

Well- the Blackfish were a bit slower today, only a handful with 5 keepers before we took off for the Cod grounds.

Had 30 some odd Cod // some nice ones mixed in, again a bit slower then yesterday.

Heard of Bass being caught off the beach in East Hampton, draggers are slamming the fluke on the south side -

I have prime six pack charter dates available for May & June - So call and book a trip!

2 spots available split cahrter for Fri 4/30.

Had the Mike D'Alessio party out -

Slammin day // little rough in the morning with wind against tide, then she cleaned up REAL nice and the Cod went on the chew. Cod are here crowds are gone! Only one other boat on the grounds.

We had 60 keeper cod with the best size fish drifting // they were hitting clams, Jigs and teasers, and scallop bellies equally well. Some nice 12 lb'rs taken on jigs. Had a Pollack, mess of bergall, and fat black back flounder - oh yeah BOW WOW WOW a dog fish!

We've been catching cod every day - every day is different, some a slo pick, some a slammer - but no skunks.

Here's some pics, and a pic of some large blacks from yesterday -

I have prime six pack charter dates available for May & June - Night Bass trips around the moons this summer are getting booked - So call and book a trip!

Had some local talent out today! 5 guys a ton of fun to fish with.

Quite a bit nautical on the way out this morning - No one got sick - The Capt. Mark has dry exhaust with stacks which helps out greatly in these situations NO DIESEL FUMES! The wind laid down - got nice, and we found some cooperative Cod after looking around for a bit.

35 keepers, maybe 5 or 6 were 10-13 lbs, rest were keeper to inch or two over keeper. At lest 80 shorts. Morning verrrrry slow - then a solid pick the rest of the day with times that all the rods were bent.

Got so nice out we decided to make a quick Black fish drop on a rocky piece in 80' of water on the way home - picked up 5 nice black fish. A monster Basking shark paid us a visit, it was @ 12' from tail to dorsal so at least 17' long!

Next two days look shot...
