So I'm headed to Hawaii when school lets out in may. Im going to try and take two charters but its looking like only one. I'm looking for a boat recommendation maui is preferred but other islands are fine also. In addition is there fishing from the beach that can be done? What type of lures and rigs are needed?

Any and all advice is great! Thank you!

Lots of fishing from the beach, bring an assortment of small tins and rubber lures. Are you looking for offshore charters or bottom fishing? There used to be a bottom fishing party boat out of Lahina. Offshore charters are scattered around on Maui, IMHO better fishing out of Honakahu <sp?> near Kona on Hawaii.

He lives on a different island than Maui, he's in Kailua-Kona on the big island.

Kona is the best place in the world for shots at grander blue marlin. Calm water, 3 mile runs and very reasonable charters.

I jumped on a split charter on the Finest Kind when I was there a few years back. We didn't have a great day, but they tried and if I was back would give them another shot.
