nissy dregding

NYS Park Dept is dregding the old Kings Park Yacht Club as well as the old Nissy yacht club. They dug a football field size hole in the parking lot and plan on dumping all the excess silt there. Yup all that pcb and old sewage thats been sitting there for yearsFinger

Your more than likely correct about the pcb. But the area they are planning to dredge is a nasty mud silt covered bottom. No sand in that area

Wasn't it dredged in the winter of 2008 or 2009?

That dredging debacle was only the mouth of the river.

True about no sand in that area, asides from the mud there is sewage there too.

I don't know.... I think I'd rather see it buried in a deep hole up on land then being part of the underwater environment in the river.

SO it looks like they area going to be doing some dredging in the area, also the old mental health hospital will be coming down, along with site restorations. They working with a 14-16 million dollar budget here. They also are planning on making a New Launch Boat Ramp and Boat Pier. Smile This is not a possible idea, the work will be done...ITS A FACT
