Sitting in my 6th grade class when a student came in with the announcement that President Kennedy had been shot. We stopped and prayed. When I got home and put on the TV I learned he had died.

I'll never forget how shocking it was to hear the announcement of the shooting. One of those moments in history that everyone remembers where they were and what they were doing.

I was in 2nd grade

all the teachers were crying! It was a helluva shock to lose such a charismatic and witty young president.

Toungue me too...

My Irish Catholic Mother still wells up when she describes the scene at her high school in Far Rockaway and then returning home to Breezy Point to my Grandparents weeping at the TV with that 1000 yard stare. My mother told me today, "the nation mourned 10 times more than we did after the 9/11 attacks".....
It's amazing to me how JFK, to this day, maintains the highest approval rating among all other presidents at around 90%

It would appear that no posts were deleted, so I'd say it didn't go through

3 years old - probably potty trained by then?
I always liked the Kennedy speech about going to the moon. To me Kennedy was the greatest president of our time. Long Island was a great place back then, the technology was second to none. With companies like Sperry, Grumman,Fairchild etc. We had great machinists, Technicians, Engineers. Now we are in a sorry state. We engineer nothing, we manufacture nothing. We have no great leaders.
