read this on SOL...

"NEW WORLD RECORD STRIPER!
Paul Melnyk has heard that there is a new striped bass world record this morning!
An 81.6 pound slob was taken in Connecticut waters this morning on a live eel.
This fish was believed to have been taken on the Southwest reef by a fellow named Al Stromski.
The fish was weighed in at Shoreline Bait and Tackle in Westbrook Ct. WOW!"

Oh man!!!! Guess I have to set my sights on an 85lber instead of the 80lber I've been shooting for!
If true- outstanding and congrats to the angler.up

Toungue NAAAAAA.... In my dreams... lol
Seriously, wondering if I could land a 80lb bass on a 20lb braided with 150 yards spool... Confused

Also... videos? photos? anything?

Well he can't make it a legal record if he let it go... Smile

I mean I'm a well known (in some places) fighter with illegal size kept bass + I keep just like 1 out 5 keepers but I would keep this fish for sure even if I wouldn't going to it eat... just to set a record... Toungue

Wow! Great catch... I'd be happy to get into the 50 club, I can only imagine what 80 feels like trying to bring her up.

Hm, the 45+lbrs I was catching on the Bunker Schools looked bigger than that in pics.

Hope some better pics were taken, I was coming in here expecting to see a fish much bigger than that. Regardless its a catch of a lifetime, and I hope some better pics surface.
