If you had to use 1 reel for inside and outside fishing for fluke to stripers what would that reel be? Is their such a reel?

Either an Abu 5000/6500, a Calcutta 400B, a Calcutta 300CTE or Daiwa Pluton 200H - in increasing order of price and build quality.

I'm pretty happy with my shimano Cardiff 400 as an all around reel.
I use it for everything. Fluking in the ocean, livelining for bass in the inlet, porgies in peconic, you name it. works for everything.

older ABU revo inshore. ITs not too big for fluke and not to small for bass.

BX-400N. Waaaay overkill but damn reliable and will winch in any surprises I may come across. And yes, I even use it to buck-tail fluke.

And no, I could careless what someone else thinks of me using such a expensive reel.

I have had absolutely NO problems with either my Shimano Baitrunner 6000 or 8000 D spinning reels ..... I use them from both surf and boat and have had great success .... so I will stick with those!up
