New TV show about Commercial Bluefin Tuna Fishing,
which will be aired on NatGeo.

Friend of mine is one of the captains on the show.
-----

Wicked Tuna, meanwhile, hails from Piligian's Pilgrim Studios (Dirty Jobs)
and will explore the business of bluefin tuna fishing in Gloucester, Mass.,
as crews set sail for the elusive fish that can fetch between $3,000 and $15,000 in peak season.

“Commercial tuna fishing is brutally competitive.
With its limited season, the intelligence and prowess of the fish, and the sheer fact that they’re worth so much,
the livelihood of each vessel’s crew can be made or broken in a month,” Piligian said.
“Pairing that kind of pressure with the harsh environment of Gloucester
makes this one of the most intense and compelling series Pilgrim has ever produced.”

Sometime in late March or April,
schedule has not been set yet.

When I find out, I will post on this thread.

Should be a good show,
they increased the number of episodes originally planned
during shooting, which indicates it came out better than expected.
I know the producers are really happy with the final product.

I had seen the industry teaser promo a few months ago,
had a high energy look and feel to it.

My girlfriends dad Ralph is the captain of the Odysea. He's been a GBFT fisherman for 30yrs, has over 500 Giants under his belt. I've been on the boat a few times, had some nice fish...the boats gorgeous, a 32' BHM.

I was invited on the show for next year as a mate, gotta wait and see the details first.

Cool to see a couple recognizable names there. That is Eric's Bounty Hunter Jack?

Thanks! I'm looking forward to this show. I hope they are able to capture the excitement & emphasize the sustainability of rod & reel fishing.

Bounty Hunter is the 35 Duffy run by Capt. Bill Monte, out of gloucester.

Bill will be the life of the show, he is a great fisherman and great guy. the other guys are awesome also, hope we see some good footage of the fish over 1000lbs that dotcom hung this season.

looking forward to it
