I am live on the soaker and just got word of a man pulled over board and the body was recovered. From what I herd on the Vhf is he did not make it
The boat is from our Marina Westlake.
It was the all aluminum boat that many have seen in anoffshore video

What we herd happened is he went to the bow to remove a hung pot on his anchor
The line wrapped his footand pulled him over

It is getting nasty out here now dead east so were heading back in
I'll find out more facts and keep you posted

Truly sad

That's a shame. Thoughts and prayers for his family. May God rest his soul.

Fisherman's Prayer

God grant that I may live to fish

For another shining day,

But when my final cast is made

I then most humbly pray,

When nestled in your landing net

As I lay peacefully asleep,

You'll smile at me and judge

That I'm "good enough to keep."

At least the panic over the "Fiscal Cliff" proved the "Bush Tax Cuts for the Rich" montra was a load of crap repeated by Liars and ignorant lemmings.

update

Well my heart goes out to those families that lost a loved one

As we pulled in to the inlet we saw a 49 ft coastie leave to the west ledge where the vessel was supposed to be located
I did see the Vivianne at the coast guard station and he did recover a body that is a fact.
I spoke to west lake and they said even worse news that it maybe more then 1 person but no one was 100% suresurprise

I dont want to spectulate on this matter but Chris at West lake confirmed the tragedy did happen the details have been different among many even Capt. Johnny D did not know the whole story.

I did hear something about doing cpr on the Vhf but at this point a press release will clarify it all

I was truly sad to hear the news and till we get facts will have to wait for the out come

Sad day and scary

My prayers go out to hopefully a safe return for the others
I did hear a father and son plus 2 other were on board but not confirmed

If anyone heaRS ANY NEW PLEASE post it
Thanks
Capt. Mike

very sad news

The person who died is my friend Marty McMillian, he is a member here as well, Ironwood something or other. I am in shock. Fished with him many times. He has a custom made alluminium boat docked in MTK. He was also on a few of Tred Barta's shows in the past. I feel so bad for his son, Cody. He was on the boat during the whole thing. I will post any other details as I get them. Very nice guy and a great fisherman.
