I used to fish striped bass during Thanksgiving and eat striped bass instead of turkey.
But I travel this time as my sister-in-law visited us and I am a designated driver. We plan to travel south. I was thinking about bringing rods with me for grouper in NC, but decided not to after checking weather forecast.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone !

Luray Cavern
When you travel south, Luray Canverns are always the first destination.

Virginia Beach

I came down to Virginia Beach many times just fishing and this is the first time I enjoy the Beach. Smile

To hunt a good restaurant is like to hunt a good game fish. Smile
Doc Tayler Restaurant which serves one of the best breakfast in Virginia Beach happens to be only two blocks away from our hotel.

After heavy breakfast, it is a must to take a walk on the beach. Smile

Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel

This 17.6 miles Bridge-Tunnel Known as one of the Seven Engineering Wonders of the Modern World is also magnet for fish.
I was incredible number of sea trout and small striped bass around the columns of the bridge when I fished on a boat at night.
Famous black drum fishing in May is not far from the bridge
While crossing the bridge, I saw many small boats fishing right under the bridge. I think they were fishing tog.

Ocean City Beach, MD
It is not unusual two famous beaches in two different state on the same day. Smile

It is a must to eat blue claw crab when you stay in Maryland. Smile
I tried to visit PNG Crab House first, but they are closed.
Fortunately we found nearby Higgins Crab House open.
I didn't have much expectation because crabbing is out of season in Maryland now and they use blue claw crab from Louisiana or other southern States. But surprisingly they were hard shell with lots of meat.

raw oyster/clam are two for $1. I never saw such a cheap price and they are juicy and tasty.

While eating too much, we missed Ferry to Cape May, NJ.Smile
