Weird forecast

on NOAA the regular forecast shows partly cloudy with wind to 13mph. Then the marine forecast is totally different with the rain and gusts to 20 knots and 2-3 feet.

Of course and come Monday the seas subside to a reasonable condition.

on Monday it looks like the wind is going to change and come from the SW, hopefully that will help change this current weather pattern....water is already 60 degrees, we are on the clock...prob less than 3 weeks for the bass/blues

The Sound often comes alive with hi NE/NW winds and heavy surf. I'd prefer those conditons this time of year than a SW wind! Along with those high winds just before this last nor'easter, the bass put on the feed bag and went nuts!

If you plan on doing any fishing from a boat, especially any kind of structure fishing for tog/seabass, or striped bass...a strong northwest, northest blow and high seas are prob the last thing that you'd want to fish Nov in.

So far in the entire month of October, I have been tog fishing once!

When are we going to get a break?

Hey, will still have it better than they do down in Florida and Louisiana. Maybe I should stop bitchin'.

The reference to strong NE/NW winds was surf-fishing related. Under the right conditions the bass will be at your feet and there will be plenty of them. It happened this wekk!

that really IS disappointing...on Sunday I had planned to bring my little boat back 125nm from Westport, MA to Greenwich, CT

my window for this trip is just about closed. I can take 1-2' in the LIS, but I really hate riding up and down the 2-4' stuff off Pt Judith

reason for forecast change

If you followed the weather in detail, all week long they were concerned about a noreaster this weekend. Up until today, for the past several days, it looked like it was going to veer far offshore, now they're saying its going track closer to the coast as originally expected.

When I read the weather forecast now I read the "Forecast Discussion" section on NOAA's page and it gives one a better idea of what those idiots are really thinking (even though its written in scientific gibberish and i cant understand half of what they're saying).

all that being said, this sux big time.
