The best place now for big porgies is the Center Island reef.

On memorial day i fished centerisland reef in about 10 feet of water. I no its shallow but i was in the yak and their were alot of boats and jetskis zipping around, didnt want to get mowed down. I did see a bunch of boats working the waters further out. On the way out to the point thier was a guy in a boat and he waved a 3 pound porgy at me and i was amazed.

wed night we were trolling kayak carls tubes from our kayaks and the porgies were constantly stealing our worms friend of mine got 3 nice keepers including a fat 14" porgie and we were in about 5-8ft of water around the rocks near the reef. I did manage 3 bass to 29" def want to go back and do some porgie fishing. It's amazing that he caught that many being that the tubes have 8/0 hooks on themsurprise
