One of the best darn writers of our generation. When he writes a book I will be first in line to buy it

till then, you can check out new issue of the Surfcasters Journal magazine we just put up with Rich's story about growing up on the water

he should def write a book!! i would buy it in a of the most generous fisherman on here. I had the privilege of talking to him after on of the seminars last year a real down to earth nice guy with tons and tons of knowledge!

Excellent Reading!! Let us know when the book will be out!

I was not expecting the sad ending though.

Yes I read the wole story, as it was written extremely eloquently.

I think it "moves" the reader to re-think our childhoods too. It made me reminish my first fishing device, a bucket with a cloth cover and a hole for the fish to get in and crab meat at the bottom. I would dive every 10 minutes and bring out fish and crabs. And the joy of having my own 16 gauge shotgun at my 6th birthday for pheasant, quail hunting.

Awesome read "Killa" lol...I enjoyed every last word. Felt Like I was there with you. Those daredevils have produced a few early fishing memories for me as well. Nice job Rich. Thanks for sharing.

Great writing! Like John said, thank you for sharing it with us.
With the other articles in this SJ mag it really makes you think; there's alot of interesting people out there running around with their fishing rods in the middle of the night.
