So, has anyone bought the license for this year??? I am so mad they won't refund me the 10 bucks.
Luckly, for all you who bought the lifetime, they will be issuing a credit back soon. up

Yes, I got one early. I was wondering about a refund.

Yeah! Give me my $10 back! Oh and I payed $1 for license card laminating... I want it back too!!! Really

C'mon... I mean it's just $10, you probably spend 3 times more on each (surf) fishing trip (gas, bait, time etc) and 50 times more every boat trip. Nowadays I'm more concern about road asphalt quality in NY. Finger

It's not so much about the 10 bucks, just annoyed that I bought it one week before they decided to eliminate the need of the license...
I was just trying to let our fellow fishermen know that license will no longer be needed to fish our beaches Smile

I think the rule is "no taxation without representation" that rule doesn't look like it prohibits misrepresentation to me down Finger

No-fee Recreational Marine Fishing Registery still required

I read an article recently in Newsday that NY created this no-fee fishing registry to replace the fishing license established in October of 2009. It appears the permit system was not ready until now. Anglers 16 or older fishing in NY marine or brackish waters must register.

There is a $250 fine for failing to register.

Good news for some of us who went and purchased their 2011 NY state fishing license. You will automatically be registered. You should also receive a refund sometime this summer.

For all you sharpies that have not registered and have already caught fish this spring be sure to turn yourself in to the authorities Smile
