Been thinking about making a big pot of beef soup or Navy bean soup. Gonna do it soon. I made fish chowder a week or two ago, but two quarts of it went south with the power failure.

Ok, I'm not gonna mince any words here, this is THE BEST pot of soup I've ever made!! upup I just threw in all kinds of stuff, I'm gonna name it "Margaret's Own Pasta Fagiole" Toungue , I chopped up a whole zucchini, that went in, red kidney beans, chick peas, and then of course the traditional stuff, carrots celery garlic onions ham macaroni etc., and of course topped off with grated pecarino ramano cheese.....HOLY CRAP THIS CAME OUT GOOD!!! upupupToungue.

But I forgot to pick up Italian bread for dunking. Mad

Not to my knowledge, one of my best friends mom always made pasta fagiole with ham diced up in small cubes, recipes ive read call for pancetta but i aint buying that at $8.99 a pound, there's the red version with tomatoe sauce and the whilte with chicken broth, I prefer the chicken broth, all I did different was throw the zucchini in, and use different beans. It still came out awesome.upup

Your ingredients are wrong. Try looking up a recipe. One from an Italian cookbook.

There are no kidney beans in pasta fagioli. Cannellini beans. There's no ham in it. Pancetta or fatback.
You have no tomato sauce in it either.

What you have is Margrock vegetable soup.

Ok, this might be the third time I'm saying it but what the heck, I threw in some other things, but the bulk of it is the ITALIAN recipe I follow. But didn't mean to upset any Italian American people around here so lets just call it IRISH MARGARETS PASTA FAZOOOOOLE WITH ITALIAN ZUCCHINI!!! upToungue

Big difference.

Any way you still have everything else wrong.

It like trying to make corned beef with an eye round roast.

I figure you can get your brain around that.
