Here we go, ladies and gentlemen! Fluke season is almost upon us, and with that, it's time for the third annual Noreast charter on the Celtic Quest to honor one of our area's most beloved members of the fishing community,Capt.Neil Faulkner upup.

For those who may not know, two years ago, we set up a fluke trip on the CQ as a way to pay tribute to a gentleman who has done so much for Noreast, the fishing community as a whole, and for other people in general. My original idea was to have a trip on which rods built by Neil were to be used exclusively. But, I realized that not everyone who may have wanted to partake in this memorable trip neccessarily owned a Neil rod. So, that "rule" was not hard and fast, and the same goes for this year up

The two previous Capt.Neil Invitationals were a big hit. Everyone who joined in had a terrific day both times, we did pretty well fishing wise, and made some awesome memories up!

Bernadette over in the Celtic Quest's office has already put up the link to pay, I will post it in this thread. The fare and head count will be the same as last year, 35 people ( on the big CQIV) at $75 a head. On the day of the trip, we will collect a $20 per person tip for the CQ's outstanding crew, as well as a small pool. One of Neil's rules of life is to " Have fun fishing", so this isn't going to be a big money, competitive trip WinkSmile.

I made calls, sent PMs, ect. out to those people who participated in previous Capt.Neil Invitationals. There are currently open spots. Once the 35 spots are filled, I will start a wait list, as I can never emphasize enough with these larger charters, people always have to drop out for one reason or another. The sooner you get on, the better chance you have at joining in on what is becoming an annual Noreast event.

As Neil posted, he will be building a rod for this trip, so here is what we will do pool-wise. The money pool will be $5 a person. The person who catches the heaviest fluke on this trip will have a choice between the money or the rod, and the person with second heaviest fluke will get whichever prize is left.

So if you would like to take part in what I already know will be a memorable, fun day, with some really good shallow water fluking as well, just post up up!

A couple of pics of the man of the hour

1.)A group shot at the end of the day on the first CN Invitational. Neil, generous as ever, had t shirts made up for everyone on the trip up

2.)Our buddy right where he belongs-behind the wheel of a fine fishing vessel ( the Fishy Business in Orient in this case) Shades

3.)This one just says it all Smile

Last year I had to miss out cause it was on my anniversary. But not this year. Smile Count me in.

On a side note, last year July 1st Capt Neil put together a CQ trip and i ended up landing a fluke just shy of 9lbs on cts704 he built me. As I recall alot of other nice size fish on that trip as well. Can't wait. Should be a great trip for a great guy.

Yep, he's on Bill, thanks.

You're on also Max. Yes, that was another fun day, even though I was punching cards, not fishing Wink. That was the heaviest fluke caught on the CQ in 2011, right? As you saw, this is prime time for flukin in the Pt.Jeff area, this trip will hopefully be as good up
