Happy Spring - Gloucester Cod Fishing and More

Happy Spring to all Tuna Hunter Fishermen!

We hope you all had a good winter.
2008 was a fantastic fishing year, and we are looking forward to more of the same in 2009.

It's time for Gloucester Cod & Haddock Fishing! Time to get out on the water...

Gloucester Cod Fishing - Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters

April 21st will be the start of our fishing season, with large catches of cod and haddock. The commercial cod and haddock season will be closed again this year in May, but rod & reel anglers - that's all you Tuna Hunter anglers - can fish and fishing is now and will be fantastic. This is the time to fill your freezer, taking advantage of those gorgeous spring days out on the water.

Striped Bass Fishing Gloucester on Tuna Hunter Charters

Last year in June the mackerel moved in thick, leading in the migrating striped bass. Those early-season bass can be huge, and it sure gets one back into the fishing season with a blast. Plan your striped bass fishing charters now for the best dates.

Gloucester Tuna Fishing on Tuna Hunter

Re Tuna, we look forward more Kite Fishing for Tuna on that same year-class of bluefin tuna. Just image fighting those same tuna standup, reel screaming, battling that fish - only it's BIGGER this year! We expect some of those bluefin to be in Giant range this season.

Call or email to our latest openings - we look forward to seeing everyone again this season - our clients make our season enjoyable!

Good fishing to you!

About Me
Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters ~ Captain Gary Cannell Captain Gary Cannell has been fishing his entire life - he has been U.S. Coast guard licensed since 1984 (License # 777397). Gary has extensive experience fishing in waters from Maine to the Bahamas, as far as 100 miles offshore. He is known for his expertise with Striped Bass, Sharks, and Giant Bluefin Tuna. Originally from New Jersey, Capt. Gary learned and perfected the art and science of giant bluefin tuna fishing. Tuna Hunter would follow bluefin tuna up and down the New England coast each season, frequenting Brielle/Manasquan, NJ, Montauk, NY, Point Judith, RI and Chatham and Gloucester, MA. Captain Gary and Tuna Hunter moved to Gloucester in 1995 when caught and landed by a mermaid. When not fishing charters, Gary is tuna fishing, bass fishing, cod fishing, fly fishing. diving or ice fishing. Come fall and winter, Gary is hunting birds or deer. As pictured, he is always searching for new fishing hot sports, new techniques, and new ways to get fishing to bite - always hunting and fishing in some way or manner.
