The Capt. recommends a Max of 38 anglers for this Type of Trip.
If all of us went we would be 23 Strong.

The boat will provide All Tackle

If you have a Med Light Spinning rod bring it along.
If you are in the Market for one..

Here’s the specs that will work very, very Well: it’s what I use.

Spinning rod:
- 7’ Foot
- 8-17 lb line rating
- ½ oz. – 3/4oz lure.
Reel:
Any Shimano 2500 – 3000 size ( ebay is the Best $$$) I have had ALL of the Brands and Shimano lasts and performs the best of all.

Fishing Line:
Power Pro 20lb braided line. ( 150 yards)
Cheap 15lb mono leader as backing – put a few yards on the spool 1st then the Braided line. Otherwise the The braid is so slick it slip on the spool – you don’t need much just enough to cover the metal once.

Hope to see you there.

1st Annual Longest Fish Wins Tournament ~ 2014

Date: Wednesday 6-18-2014(Original Date 6-18-13)

Place:
Captree Boat Basin
3500 Ocean Parkway
Bay Shore NY 11706

Boat:
FISHFINDER II

TIME:
5:00- 9:30 trip
~ suggested: Please arrive at least ½ hour early to ensure a good spot.

Open Party Boat :

Cost:
$47 per person - pay the Mate $cash is king$

Note: Once we have a final count I can call ahead for a reservation / group discount (boat gives Groups larger than 6 a discount)

Fishing Type:
Under hand casting with light Spinning Tackle

– using soft Plastic Lures and Lead headed hooks.
Lure size: ½ oz. – ¾ oz.
Lure : Bass Assassin / shad Type 5-6”

Fishing Tip: You can also just drop straight down. No casting needed. Very effective. This how I usually catch weaks and fluke on these trips before sundown..

Fish Tip #2 : Bring precut 1/8" x 5-6" or longer squid strips

Fish Targeted: (Min. state regs to keep)
- Striped Bass ( [email protected] 28”+ [email protected] 40”+)
- Bluefish (15 @ any size )
- Weakfish ( [email protected]”+ ~~ if we are lucky~~)
- Fluke ( 5 @ 18”+)

Tournament Entry Fee:
$10 per person = Winner Takes ALL

Rules:

Weakfish Trump everything of the same length.

Anything you buy will usually 10x better than what the boat provides..even a $30 Daiwa combo @ Dicks.

Fishing Line:
Power Pro 20lb braided line. ( 150 yards)
Cheap 15lb mono leader as backing – put a few yards on the spool first, just enough to cover it once.. then put the Braided line on until it's 1/8" from filling it.

Note: With out the backing... The braid is so slick it, that it will slip on the spool when you reel in.– Like I said ..you don’t need much just enough to cover the metal once.

I know this is very short notice but we have to start sometime.

Hope to see you there.
