Beautiful morning - calm clear and warmer than many days before..
55 and rising..

Decided to poke around and run the boat at speed for awhile
4k - 26 mph under FLat conditions

A few more boats out this day than the freezing past weekend
Nice to run on day like this...makes you what to just keep going and going-

Hit a few spots .. checking each 48, 47, 46,48.. not promising at most
Spots---
Finally got serious n made a run looking for hot spots..

Took a few stops but had a temp of 54 --4 degrees better than last weekend
1st cast n Dave has a machine gun hit..
3-4 cast later we both had simultaneous follow n swipes
so excited @ the sight of fish rise

A few casts later had a keeper sized fish rise and turn away..
That's the largest We,d see all day.

Dave boated 2 fish before I even had a solid hit..

Working hard .. I bloated the next 2 and that was it-- breeze died to a dead calm and the bites and follows stopped dead too

Called it a day @ 340

---------------------
Total:
Me - 2 Bass (22",23")
3-4 missed hits
6-7 follow & turn always

Dave - 2 bass (17", 22")
5-6 missed hits
10 fOllows

-----------------
- Osprey flying high
- big flock of migrated birds high as well
- lots or weeds n debris
- no bait spotted
-

Day 2
Sunday 4-28-13

Forcast was for south winds near 9…which means it will more than likely be cranking out of the south..
yep - Strong south as I met Dave at 1130 @ the ramp -- 4 boats converged on the ramp @ the same time-- 2 other trailers already there

----------------------
Wind - s @ 15-20
Air 59-64
Water 48-57
High near 230
---------------------------

Underway by 1140..
The wind was just stiff all day – we actually considered a Sunrise trip South & then afternoon North…but decided late last night to focus on one and just stay North..
Really good choice..as I just wasn’t ready for the ride back accross the GSB under stiff winds..
.Many places to hide under the wind today..

Had some time before High – so we zig zagged all around checking spots we missed or couldn’t get to or haven’t been to in years..
maybe to discover something new or change by SANDY or scout out for the future.. only a light windbreaker is all you needed today..
I love spring..

Had a nice hit @ a new spot we were checking…always a good sign..marked this in the memery banks for future stops...probally made too many drifts over it to try to get a second shot at the fish..

Hit few more old spots until it was time to try were we had fish the day before..hoping they’d still be there..
1st cast – Dave was on – 20” Bass ice breaker..then another..
I hooked up not to soon after..small 18”..
another 2 fish over the next ½ hr…so we moved away for ½-an hr to try another spot..and let it cool..

same thing 1-2 casts 20” fish on..3-4 schoolies..
move to a 3rd spot…
same thing 1-2 casts 18” fish on..2-3 schoolies..
repeat process… worked all day long..til it slowed down..

nailed a larger schoolie right near the end of the trip – 26”.. hit as soon as I hit the water and made a nice roll– ZZZZZZ- after hooking mostly 18” fish thought it was a keeper for a second –

Done @ 5;15pm – last one @ the ramp..
Did I mention how much I love spring?

Total:-----------------------------------------------
Me
14 school bass ( 16-26") most 18"
5-6 missed hits.. not many
1 follow

Dave
8 school bass ( 16-23")
5-6 missed hits
2-3 follow - one estimated 30" to the boat.....
-------------------------------------
- High n low flying Osprey couple checking us out
- very cool rowing skiff on the way out..
- Got a crazy Glasses frame racing stripe sun-wind burn.. even though I was bundled up Buff and all.

Great Day = consistent action or the promise/ chance of it..
