Spring Commission - New 2010 DF90A --- 4-2-2011

After a seriously terrible winter - lots snow n bitter cold ( it snowed Fri in NJ) I was excited to here my New DF90A was ready for P/U! -- still sad about my motor blowin up in Sept-- took me all winter to find that right motor... picked it up @ 11am...and to the water by noon..after reading all the break in materials.. launched into a nice but brisk day..

---------------------------------------
Wind 15-20 WNW...
air 53-54
water 41 @ Ramp , 38 in Sound.
11:30am high
---------------------------------------

couldn't wait to see how she'd do and how well they dredged the channel since last year..

@high tide --the low spot from last year was near 12ft..

headed out into the nasty sound -- 2-4ft waves,,,
not ideal...took a ride are -- past cranes lookin for smooth water to open her up for few seconds..

had to go inside PJ Harbour...ride there was quicker than expected....went inside did a quick test run and headed back to SB... water is very cold..

Had Plane keep me company for the return as he circled overhead...all the slips are bare yet..no activity...thought I'd see one Flounder fisherman..but
nada..

back into the channel @ 2:30 - mid tide and the low spot was now 8ft..( last year it was 2ft..
I just hope the dredge hasnt soured the ecosytem..we'll
see...

done by 3pm..

- RPMs were too low @ full trottle -- 5200-5300 and it struggled to get there...36.8mph - prop is incorrect -- need a 13 3/4" x 17"
- PTT was adjusted properly...reads all the way below down when in correct trim..and the gauge has mad condensation inside it from be rained on @ the Dealer,,,no cover..

so back it goes,,,,next trip should 5x5,,

- also ixed the bunks on the trailer -- restapled the carpet..almost ready to fall of one side,,,
- the Bow light switch broke under the console..the pos wire broke away from the switch..entire thing needs replacement..
- trailer rollers shot-- just orded some on Ebay.. none roll..bracket needs replacement as well..nearly rusted through the U bolts..good thing I got a sawzall this winter...19.2 craftsman...
