Came to Hyannis for Memorial weekend to fish the spring run porgy.
First trip was Friday afternoon on Helen-H. Full boat and porgy bite was great, mixed in with seabass. Boat supplied salted clam and I also brought fresh clam which seemed getting bites.
Second trip was Saturday afternoon on Hy-line Sea Swan (thanks to Peterk814 for the info) with my son. Full boat and porgy bite was plain red-hot after a slow start (slack tide). Boat supplied clam and fresh squid which outfish clam because it lasted longer. I even put on a 3-hook sabiki rig with a 4oz diamond jig for sinker. No bite until I tipped it with squid strips. I cast it out and put the rod in the rod holder. Waited until the rod tip bounced crazy, even caught a triple header porgy.
Overall fishing was great, short boat ride and no sticky bottom (I didn't lose a single rig). This morning saw a bus with people from Brooklyn chartered the .
