Late report.

Monday Tuesday and Wednesday of this week had False Albies raiding jones inlet during the day. I spent about 2 hours trying to catch them one day on various tiny tins and lead head/sluggo combos. Not a touch. Spoke to one other boat who had one on a lead head/sluggo in the 4 " range. Had several good shots at them as I had the boat inline of where they were heading and drifted into them, but couldn't get a touch. Guess it's time to dust off the fly rod.

Good luck

Any small metal or plastic in the 3 inch range and 1/2-1oz usually works. Gotta definitly match what their feeding on. If the fish are breaking try using a small popper. Also use bright colors on cloudy/overcast days.

What tide was going on in the inlet? I am hopefully going to be out there Sunday and would love to try my luck at a false Albie.

try trolling fast right outside with feathers and you should hook up.
