Spent opening day on Kensico and teamed up with my good friend Steve for a total of 5-laker's to 6 -pounds.

Conditions were great until about 11AM when the wind showed.

Good way to start the season.

I took a spin by and it looked like a parking lot out there, lol. Glad to hear you were getting the fish though.

It was good to get in on some action rather then writing about it all the time Smile

That is me in the photo, and that is really funny LOL. I did see a guy taking photos.

We never had a touch in there and we only moved there to get away from the wind. All of our fish were caught deep.

Kensico lakers

So how'd you catch them? I just got a boat on Kensico last year and have caught some bass by the bridge, but no lakers. Any tips are appreciated.

Too funny

I'm guessing from the pic you were just a little west of the green Rte 22 bridge. My worst nightmare is a sudden breeze from the north which makes the row back to my mooring near impossible.

I usually do well to the southwest of there, south of the white group of buoys. Water ranges from 80 to 100 feet deep.

Sawbellies are the ticket, with the lightest line you can get away with. Haven't trolled spoons in years, maybe I'll try that this spring.
