Report location New York > New York Bight > Bigger Bass - Back of Raritan Bay
Fishing method Boat
« Previous Report Next Report »

Took advantage of the beautiful weather to catch (and release ) 35 bass on spinning rods & top water lures. The fish ranged from 5 pound to about 15 lbs. A short break to change our tackle and it was back on. Once the Ho's went out another 25 came aboard (all released), this time 12-30lbs. Chartreuse with a touch of pink was the ticket. Double Headers were the norm. The bigger fish want the large rigs and we were there to accommodate them. It's nice to have the fish in our own backyard for a change. The entire bay was covered with Bunkers & diving gannets. A couple of friends were out alongside of us and were able to keep a few as they were from NJ.

Come & get them.

All nice.

Very windy but fishable in the back this morning. The Ho's did the job once again. Fish were smaller today, only 30-36 inches. Plenty of fish back there. Had about 40 today, all but 2 released.
