Despite the bitter cold, there was quite a large turnout of anglers wanting to get their last shot at some quality sea bass before the season ends on Sunday. We traveled for over 4 hrs from Captree, but it was well worth it. The bite was on with double headers coming up all around the boat. I got my limit and only brought up 2 shorts the entire day. Capt. Ken really put us on the fish. Tomorrow's trip is cancelled due to icing conditions in the marina. Now let's hope for some good cod action!
Extreme cold arctic like conditions but the fishing was red hot. Many cbass limits or near limits. Dylan & his dad Ed limited out in first half hour of fishing. They tried jigging for cod and other techniques after the quick limits. It took me about 45 minutes longer than Dylan & Ed to take 12 keeper jumbo cbass(ORL). i also tried for cod and porgies after that as well. no cod today.Little Gianni had a near limit with a solid double header consisting of a 4 pound and 2 pounder and swung them both over the rail. A great finale to another successful seabass season on the Captree Princess. Thanks today to Capt. Kenny Higgins for putting us solidly in the game. and to our all star deck crew of Patrick, James, Danny and Greg who were always where they needed to be.
